Welcome to the very first Impact of 2014. The show is airing from Orlando, Florida.
We are welcomed by Mike Tenay and list us our matches for scheduled for tonight.
Kurt Angle comes down to the ring to kick off the show. Kurt says that the reason he declined the TNA hall of fame is so he could prove that he is the best. He says they call me a cyborg but not in 2013. He says he has some big plans for 2014. Booby Roode interrupts and comes down to the ring. He ask the fans if we are about to witness Kurt Angle’s retirement speech. Bobby says that Angle should walk away and do him a favor by saying that Roode is better than Kurt Angle. Kurt says he is not leaving but he is saying that he will kick ass in 2014. He says he is challenging him to one more match. Roode explodes about the challenge and says no. Roode says he has nothing else to prove to anyone. He has beaten that he is better than Angle and Kurt is not hall of fame worthy. Roode is about to leave but hesitates and says unless on one term. He says if Angle loses, then he will have to leave and never accepts a TNA HOF ceremony. Angle says it will be a genesis but Angle has a stipulation as well. He wants the match in a steel cage. Roode accepts and both men start brawling. Rockstar Spud says this night will not be ruined and tonight they will fight in a tag team match tonight.

Gail Kim calls out Madison Rayne out to the ring and her match is next.
Madison Rayne Vs. Gail Kim
Madison Rayne nails a cross body and is all over Kim. Rayne with several kicks in the corner followed by a break from the referee. She hits a spear and several right hands. Referee breaks it up and is thrown back by her hair. Kim with right hands in a mounted position. Kim shoots off the ropes but reversed and Rayne lands a neck-breaker. Rayne feeds off the crowd, she shoots off the ropes but dragged out of the ring by Led’i Tapa to the floor. Back in the ring, Kim covers her for a 2 count. Kim, who is frustrated, slams Rayne face into the mat then locks in a odd neck submission. Rayne fights out, she lands elbows to the ribs. Kim with a hair toss kills Rayne momentum and throws her into the corner. She uses the ropes to her advantage then goes for “Eat defeat” and Rayne reverse into a roll up. Both girls goes for a clothesline and both connects with it. They trade right hands,Rayne gets the advantage and lands several clothesline followed by a drop kick. Rayne shoots off the ropes with a big boot. Rayne with a splash in the corner followed by a head take over but blocked and slammed down hard from the top rope. Kim talks trash while she is down, She goes for “Eat defeat” and Rayne reverse into a roll up for the win.

Chris Sabin says if Velvet Sky interrupts or distracts him during his match, then he will leave her.

X Division Title Match: Austin Aries © Vs. Chris Sabin
“Shelly’s better” chants break out, they lock up but Sabin backs in the corner to get a kiss. Aries with a splash in the corner then a neck submission but Sabin gets out and argue with Velvet Sky. Sabin back on the apron where Aries rams him head first in the corner and lands a elbow for a near fall. Aries with a leg lock submission but Sabin gets out via pin fall attempt. Sabin sends him to the apron but eats a shoulder to the ribs. Sabin with a splash off the ropes for a near fall. The champion gets frustrated while he lands a elbow to the top of the head. Sabin hits a suplex off a reversal and lands the boots to the ropes. Sabin puts him upside down in the corner but Aries fights out and lands a bull dog off the top rope. Aries with forearm shots but Sabin with a kick to the midsection. Aries with a forearm shot than send shim outside and connects with a double sledge off the top rope. Aries on the top rope, he hits a missile drop kick followed by a drop kick in the corner but before he can. Velvet distracts him and with the referee’s back turned, Sabin kicks him in the nuts and rolls him up for the win.

Rock Star Spud is in the back reading lines when he gets a phone call but no one answers.
Samuel Shaw Vs. Norv Fernum
Shaw controls the action and wins the match with a arm, neck submission. Quick and pain less.

James Storm does a backstage segment about all his tag team partners and he will show Kurt Angle why he made a mistake in choosing Gunner.
Bobby Roode and James Storm are talking in the back. Storm says he will be his tag team partner tonight.
As last week, the Magnus career video package is shown.

James Storm and Bobby Roode vs. Gunner and Kurt Angle
Storm and Angle starts things off, they lock up. Angle gets the advantage as he works the arm then tags in Gunner who continues to work the arm. Storm with a clothesline then blind tagged by Roode. Bobby shoots off the ropes but eats a elbow to the jaw. Roode reverses in the corner then sends him head first into the corner. Gunner fires up and sends him inot he corner with a knee shot. Gunner with a sling shot suplex for 2. Roode with a knee to the gut but runs into a boot when he throws him into the corner. Gunner argues with Storm and turns around right into a spine-buster. Storm tags in and lands several right hands. Storm with a right hand, he works the arm and tags in Roode. A double elbow by both men. Beer Money, yes beer money control the action with quick tags in and out until Kurt Angle gets the hot tag but the referee did not see it. This is the second time this happened and Angle snaps. He clears house, he connects with German suplex and Storm eats one as well. Angle locks in the ankle lock but Roode clocks him from behind. Gunner with the..un rack but Storm lands a super kick. Roode with a fall away slam wraps this one up.

After the match, Kurt Angle attacks Bobby Roode from behind and Roode runs to the back.
Sting is looking for Dixie Carter as he tells Rock Star Spud in the back.

Ethan Carter 3 comes down to the ring. He says that in the year of 2013 he debut and change the face of pro wrestling. He says he has beaten the top guys in TNA, but some of his haters have some criticism about his opponent. He says he beat Sting and Jeff Hardy last week. He says he challenged Jeff Hardy to a match tonight, but when introduced. Jeff Hardy did not come out as he is not here. Sting interrupts and says that EC3 will do everything to dodge him. Sting says that EC3 is a dog and waiting on Dixie Carter to do everything for him. Sting says that EC3 is on Dixie Carter’s leash, he says he should be man. Sting backs him up and EC3 leaves the ring. Sting says that all he is Dixie Carter’s lap dog but EC3 gets mad. He says he will fight him one on one, but at Genesis.
Bully Ray comes up to Joseph Parks in the back. He says that Parks should not face him tonight. He says he will set him on fire.
-Commercial Break-
Joseph Park Vs. Bully Ray
Park goes to lock up, but Bully Ray is just standing in the corner and then he looks up. Ray kicks him in the nuts causing the DQ.
After the match, Ray squirts lighter fluid on the downed Park then before he goes to light him….. MR. Anderson runs down to make the save, but walks into lighter fluid. Ray threatens to light him on fire, but walks away.

Rock Star Spud speaks on how much it means to the UK that Magnus won the title. EC3 speaks on defeating Sting and Jeff Hardy last week. He switches his attention to Magnus. He introduces Dixie Carter, she says that she finally got a champion that she and TNA needed. Magnus is finally introduced. He sits in his chair and says that it’s time for everyone to listen to him. He says he is humbled but honored that fans thought that other guys like Kurt Angle or Jeff Hardy being their world champion. Instead its him. He says that they all doubted him and when people ask him why he turned his back on the fans. He blames it on them for doing it to themselves. Magnus says he will be their champion for a very long time. Gunner interrupts and cashes in his briefcase.
-Commercial Break-
Gunner says that history has not been made and tonight he is ready to fight. He says he is cashes it in now. Dixie says it is not going to happen. Gunner attacks EC3 and Rock Star Spud. When he goes for Magnus, they all attack Gunner. Before he can hit him with the title, AJ Styles comes through the crowd and clears house. Both champions square off as they hold the titles in the air. Magnus leaves the ring, AJ Styles says if Dixie wants her title then he wants a match with Magnus. AJ asks him if Magnus is Dixie’s champion or the real champion. The only way he can do that, is if he fights AJ Styles. Magnus accepts the challenge against Dixie Carter’s word. Magnus says she will give him a one night only contract for winners takes all.
Both men stare at each other to end the show.
