As reported earlier this afternoon by Adam Martin, Bob Orton Sr, father of “Cowboy” Bob Orton Jr., Berry “Randall Barry” Orton and grandfather of WWE Star Randy Orton, passed away this weekend at the age of 77.
During his career, Orton had become a major star during the infancy of wrestling on television back in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Some of the territories he starred in were AWA, Florida, St. Louis, Georgia and even Stu Hart’s Stampede Wrestling territory wrestling under such names as Rocky Fitzpatrick, The Zodiak and of course Bob Orton.
After leaving the business, Orton stayed in touch with many of those still in the business and those from his era. He had settled down in Las Vegas where he remained until he suffered what PWInsider.com is reporting to have been a heart attack this past weekend.
No word yet on whether or not Randy Orton will be on Raw tonight although it is highly unlikely that he will. On behalf of all the staff here at WrestleView.com, we would like to send our sincere condolences to the Orton family, their friends and fans.
