October 13, 2006 - For six consecutive years IGN and THQ have teamed up to bring our readers an ongoing exclusive look at the superstars of the WWE, and this season is no exception. Famous the world over, our "SmackDown Countdown" chronicles each wrestler, diva, and legend that will appear in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007, and comes complete with never-before-seen screenshots and direct-feed movies of every last one of them. Every day for the next nine weeks, we'll profile more than 60 different personalities (including two each on Mondays and Fridays as a special homage to Raw and SmackDown fans), and for the first time ever, will cover two different platforms with images and video from both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 versions. Hot stuff? You bet.
But enough with the formalities it's time to throw down with today's Countdown superstar, Ken Kennedy!
HEIGHT:
6'2"
WEIGHT:
243 lbs
HOMETOWN:
Green Bay, WI
Arguably the fastest rising Superstar in sports-entertainment, Mr. Kennedy bested Lashley and Finlay to win the United States Championship, formerly held by the Irishman. He has had no problems defending his gold since, but Teddy Long recently set the champion to face Undertaker at No Mercy in October and that's created a whole new challenge for the up and comer.
Proudly doing the honors of announcing his own ring introductions in quite an unorthodox fashion, Ken Kennedy has quickly turned heads and made his presence known as one of SmackDown!'s most promising, confident and big mouthed superstars.
Insisting the spotlight be focused strictly on him at all times, Mr. Kennedy made quite the memorable debut on SmackDown by chastising Tony Chimmel's efforts in making Mr. Kennedy's ring introduction... a moment most other newcomers would savor and dream of. Instead, Mr. Kennedy took matters into his own hands, demonstrating how he thought the job should be done doing the introductions of not only his opponent, Funaki, but in Mr. Kennedy's eyes... most importantly... himself! And once the formalities are out of the way, Mr. Kennedy makes sure to keep the spotlight on him, inflicting pain on his opponents and guaranteeing a win and post match ring announcement by Mr. Kennedy himself as the winner.
In hopes of making his mark after returning to SmackDown, Mr. Kennedy would step in to challenge Batista at The Great American Bash in place of the injured Mark Henry. Batista unleashed a wrath that left Kennedy in a river of his own blood. He may have lost by disqualification, but Batista showed that world that the Animal was back.
