Pro wrestling news & notes; details on Lesnar, Jim Ross and Mike Goldberg
Source: PWTorch.com
- Sources have confirmed that there was absolutely no correlation between Jim Ross’ surgery and the angle that took place on RAW. Virtually everyone within WWE is under the impression that the “firing” on RAW was meant to be permanent, so if Ross does end up back in the RAW broadcasting booth, it will reflect a change made after the fact (due to WWE surrendering to fan backlash or not finding a capable replacement) and not the conclusion of a planned angle.
- Had Mike Goldberg signed with WWE, he would have worked roughly a third of the yearly dates he will work as a sports and UFC announcer.
- In the negotiations that led to Brock Lesnar appearing for New Japan, the wrestler’s attorneys assured the promotion that it would face no legal ramifications from WWE. WWE and New Japan never directly communicated regarding the appearance.
