Major News: Mike Goldberg Re-Signs With UFC
Source: MMAWeekly.com
After turning down a three-year WWE offer that “would have made him a millionaire,” Mike Goldberg signed a deal to continue his duties as the lead announcer for Ultimate Fighting Championship. Terms were not disclosed, but he did receive a substantial raise.
In addition to its six PPVs, UFC will be producing 26 television broadcasts this coming year, a fact which served as a big incentive in keeping both parties together.
UFC’s contract is also far more flexible than that offered by WWE. As part of his new deal with UFC, Goldberg will be able to resume duties as an announcer for the FOX Sports Network; WWE would have prevented Goldberg from doing any outside work.
Now that Goldberg is definitely not joining WWE, WWE is forced to devise a new plan for the future of its RAW announcing team, including whether or not it still intends to replace Jim Ross.
