Bored, so I decided to do a quick Mortal Kombat story.
Ever since Scorpion had rejected Mileena's teddybear everything has been out of control. She would violently lash out at anyone who tried comforting her. She attacked some servants for no reason. It made things hard for Shao Kahn who tried recruiting more generals for his army; they were afraid Mileena would shred them to pieces.
Kitana had tried unsuccessfully to comfort Mileena many times.
"I hate Baraka and his Tarkatans! I hate Shang Tsung for disfiguring my face! I hate you too! And I especially hate Scorpion!"
"Mileena, if you weren't so narrow-minded and immature you'd move on and find someone who would accept you for who you are,"
"How would you know? You just say that because everyone loves you! You're not even brave enough to tell that monk how much you love him. I should be Princess of Outworld instead of you!" Mileena lunged at her sister, aiming to bite at her neck. If Kitana had not brought her fans she would have lost her head that day.
Mileena spent most of her time crying in her room, which was almost completely destroyed now. There was almost nothing left of the teddybear she made for Scorpion. Her sewing supplies were lost amid the chaos. The walls were cracked and punctured, all a result of her fits of rage. She despised Scorpion with every living fiber.
Kitana had enough of Mileena's destructive behavior and confronted Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung.
"She refuses to come out of her room at all, Father. I've tried explaining logically to her that she should've expected that to happen because Scorpion had been married. I told her someone would accept her gifts. Instead, she tries to bite my head off! Please, Father, do something about it before she decides to kill everyone! She even tries to murder the servants that bring her food!"
Shao Kahn sat on his throne, rubbing his forehead. Shang Tsung also seemed to be in thought. After a few minutes of thinking Shao Kahn announced, "Leave her be."
Kitana and even Shang Tsung were surprised by the emperor's conclusion.
"But Father! When she's finished destroying her room she'll start killing everyone!"
"If she stays in her room I won't have to worry about her disrupting my meetings by attacking random people. She'll get hungry eventually and come out; anyone stupid enough to bother her deserves to die. If she wants to wallow in self-pity, then let her. It's her problem; not mine, not yours,"
Kitana didn't get along with Mileena very well, but she felt her father's conclusion was a bit harsh for anyone and took pity on her sister.
"Thank you for wasting my time. Now, get out of here!" Shao Kahn yelled, pointing to the door. Kitana hung her head low as she walked. She really didn't like seeing her sister so sad and wanted to try and help her even if she didn't want any help.
After nearly two weeks Mileena finally decided to go outside and find something to destroy. She heard that her father was putting some prisoners under execution for rebelling against him. She wanted to destroy anyone and everything. She wanted to kill Scorpion one day. But for now, she would do anything to vent her anger which she had held for so long.
Mileena walked along a thin dirt path which led to Kahn's Koliseum which is where the executions and fights were held. By now, the executions were supposed to be almost over. There was a crowd of women standing outside the entrance whispering about someone.
"Oooh I hope he lets his hair down!"
"He is so handsome!"
"I wonder if he's ever considered marriage?"
"I hope he'll consider me!"
Mileena didn't know who they were talking about, but she didn't care. They were blocking her way, and she just wanted to get in the Koliseum and would mutilate anyone in her way. Plus, they were obviously trespassing Kahn's Palace grounds. She took her veil off and rushed towards the crowd. They scattered and ran off screaming. Mileena laughed at them maliciously, put her veil back on, and continued walking. She could hear cheers coming from inside the Koliseum. Apparently there were still some prisoners being executed.
When she stepped inside she saw a frail figure with his hands tied behind his back. Obviously, he was a prisoner. On impulse she charged towards the prisoner, yanking her veil off and leaping on him and biting at his neck. Mileena hadn't killed any human in a long time, and she missed the warm blood splatter against her face and hearing the victim yell in pain.
After biting the unfortunate prisoner's head off, she didn't realize that Shao Kahn was present, rubbing his forehead. He was muttering something to Shang Tsung that no one else could hear. Jade was there as well, crossing her arms and shaking her head. The audience had quieted down and were murmuring to each other. Some were throwing rocks and trash into the arena. Others were laughing.
Mileena turned around with the still-bleeding head in her hand and saw one of Shao Kahn's generals dressed in purple, arms crossed, impatiently twirling his dagger. Mileena recognized him as Rain; the demigod whom many girls fantasized about. She never talked to Rain, or any of Kahn's generals really, mostly because all of them were scared of her, but she heard that Rain was a bit of a philanderer and always boasted about his strength and good looks. She knew Kitana didn't really like Rain too much. Then again, she liked the monk and was too nervous to confess her feelings to him, so something was wrong with her because Rain looked much more handsome than Liu-what was his name?
For once, Mileena felt a little weak. She felt her heart rate speed up. Her knees were shaking when she reached her bloody hand out to shake his hand. She put her veil back on to cover the fact that she was blushing bright red.
Mileena uttered a small "hi" to Rain. He turned around and rejected her friendly handshake, muttering something. She threw the decapitated head at a crowd of Tarkatans who started quarreling over it. Shao Kahn called Mileena, mostly likely to scold her. Mileena ignored her father and followed Rain outside the Koliseum. She playfully skipped behind him, laughing to herself.
"Don't be so shy!" she called out to him. "I just wanna talk to you!"
Rain didn't reply but seemed to walk faster. Mileena finally ran after him and grabbed his arm. Rain still continued walking, dragging Mileena.
"If you're mad at me I'm sorry! I didn't know what was going on! Do you know me? I'm Shao Kahn's other daughter, Mileena. My ugly sister is Kitana! I really wanted to tear someone apart! I've been so bored! My father and sister hate me and I have all these creepyass Tarkatans always stalking me! I'm really lonely! My father doesn't give a damn about me at all! He left me locked up in my room after I had my heart broken! Do you hate me now? Will you please forgive me? You have really strong arms too!"
Surprisingly he turned around and faced Mileena, their faces only inches apart. Mileena expected him to tell her to shut up like everyone else does or put a knife to her throat. What he said surprised Mileena. "You're actually kinda cute," he said. He brushed Mileena's hair out of her face. "You have pretty eyes too."
No one had ever called her 'cute' or complimented on her eyes; except Tarkatans, but they didn't count.
Mileena was sure her face was bright red. "Do you really mean it?" she asked, not believing what she heard. "How can I believe you? No one ever said that to me! My daddy wouldn't even tell me that to comfort me! I hate it when people lie to me. You're not lying are you?"
"I'm a demigod. I'm divine. I wouldn't lie to any cute girl," Rain said. Before walking too far away, he said, "I'm usually outside training everyday early morning to avoid sneaky trespassing fangirls," he said, winking at Mileena. He walked away, leaving Mileena standing there alone and confused.
She just stood there for a good minute. The fangirls she had chased off earlier were standing behind the trees whispering to each other.
"Did Prince Rain just call that beast cute?"
"Of course not. He's just saying that so she won't bite his head off."
"I wish Rain would call me cute!"
They stopped and ran away when Mileena started laughing maniacally. She sprinted after them, laughing even harder when they screamed. After she had her fun chasing them she was jumping in the air, killing anyone whom she happened to run across just for the hell of it. She was so happy someone other than Baraka actually complimented on her looks.
Mileena ran into Kitana and hugged her. "Oh Dear Sister! I don't know how I would be able to move on without you!" She released Kitana and knocked her into the wall and ran off, still laughing. Kitana knew something must have happened and decided she would ask Jade what happened at the Koliseum. She wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing that Mileena was happy.
Mileena ran into Baraka and said, "Oh hello Baraka! Nice day isn't it? Work hard!" and patted his back so hard it knocked him down. Baraka got up and dusted himself off, wondering what happened.
Still laughing, Mileena ran into her room, searching for her sewing supplies amid the mass of junk. She gathered random shreds of fabric from her bed sheets and curtains which were purple and pink. After unearthing her sewing kit she sat on what was left of her bed and began sewing the strips of fabric together. Scorpion was now a distant memory in her mind. He no longer existed. She now claimed Rain, the Prince of Edenia, as her soon-to-be-official boyfriend. And she was determined to boast about it in front of those annoying fangirls of his.
No one was sure if Mileena had regained her sanity or lost it; or even if she ever was sane to begin with.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every morning Mileena would make the effort to wake up early to watch Rain practice. She was amazed at how graceful he was as if he were dancing. Mileena would sit on a tree stump and tried her hardest not to squeal.
Rain was quite a womanizer; he could manipulate any faint-hearted girl to do work he was too lazy to do. He would go as far as abusing his demi-god status to get attention. Mileena was just another tool for him. Knowing Mileena is one of Kahn's daughters, he figured Kahn would award him large quantities of gold and an army he needed for his own greedy plans if he befriended Mileena. But for now Rain was extremely cautious about Mileena because of her volatile behavior.
Mileena watched Rain and truly admired him, not knowing that Rain didn't share the same feelings for her. And after he finished training she'd wrap her arms around his arm and occasionally play with his hair, which she thought was soft.
Rain didn't mind Mileena clinging to him until her nails started to dig into his skin or sometimes she'd pull his hair. He didn't say anything, just in case she lashed out at him. Rain endured the pain since Mileen's large chest was pressed against his arm. Rain was grateful his mask covered his face when he blushed.
Rain did get annoyed whenever Mileena started asking him numerous quetsions.
"Why do you need to train everyday swinging a sword?"
"Because if I don't I might forget and gain weight."
"How do you forget swinging a sword?"
"There's a certain way to swing. I need to practice striking so I can hit the right spot."
"It can't be that hard. Just aim for the head or neck, right?"
"Most enemies are expecting that, so I need to be able to strike other places with accuracy. I'd rather kill my opponents with one strike."
"Wouldn't you rather make them suffer?"
At this point Rain was getting extremely frustrated. He gritted his teeth and said calmly, "If you don't take care of things immediately, you might not have the chance again."
Mileena was silent now, and Rain was glad she stopped asking him trivial questions. 'Honestly,' he thought, 'it's like telling a small child no.'
Mileena quietly asked, "Is it true you're a demi-god, or is it just a nickname?"
Rain responded, "Yes. I am a demi-god, son of Argus,"
"Argus is the protector of Edenia, right? Are you planning to commit treason against Daddy? You won't help those stupid Earthrealmers, right?"
Rain was planning to betray Shao Kahn, but he wanted to take over all the realms himself.
"I should be on the good side since my father was a god, but he left me with some general in the Edenia army centuries ago. I grew up thinking that man was my father, but then I found out my true heritage. I decided to take revenge on my father who favored my two older half-brothers,"
Rain paused, looking to see if Mileena was paying attention. She looked up at him. "Then what?"
"Remember when I told you it's important to take care of things immediately?"
"Yeah,"
"This is what I meant. If Argus had killed me instead of letting me live, things would have been easier for him. He thought I would never find out and his favorite sons would compete for an ultimate prize and become a full god. I plan to kill both of them and become a full god myself."
"Oh! You're like Sis!"
"What do you mean?"
Mileena yanked Rain's hair and pulled his ear close to her mouth. "You see, it's kind of a secret only Shang Tsung and Daddy and me know, so promise not to tell anyone, 'kay?"
Rain nodded. Even though her mask was on, he knew behind that was razor sharp teeth that could easily decapitate him.
"Alrighty! Here's my story-telling time!"
Mileena pulled Rain closer. She whispered in his ear, "You see, Daddy thinks Sis is on the Earthrealmers' side, so Shang Tsung created me to look like Kitana in case it turned out she was on their side. I'm supposed to be more brutal and I always have to obey Daddy. Daddy even told me I was his true daughter. Daddy thinks Kitana is weak, and he'll have her up for execution without hesitation if there's proof she's collaborating with those smelly Earthrealmers."
Mileena let go of Rain's hair and clung to his arm again. "But it doesn't matter if your daddy didn't love you. You have me now! Right?"
"Yeah." Rain muttered. Rain was starting to have qualms about deceiving Mileena. But it was for a good purpose. Yes, Shao Kahn would surely praise him for being friends with Mileena.
Rain wondered how long he could stand being with Mileena before losing his insanity. He did think she would look attractive without her Tarkatan mouth.
"Hey Mileena," Rain said.
"Yes?"
"If I become a full god, I'll have the power to give you a normal, human-like mouth. Would that make you happy?"
Mileena smiled from ear-to-ear behind her mask. "Really, can you do that?"
"Anything is possible for a full god."
"You mean I'll be able to kiss you? Mouth-to-mouth, tongue-to-tongue?" Mileena shrieked, not believing what she heard.
Rain shivered upon hearing "tongue-to-tongue" but answered, "Yeah... Whatever floats your boat."
Mileena squealed, and dug her sharp nails into Rain's arm. Rain thought he would go insane by the time he became a full-god.
