WWE Capitol Punishment Opener:
We get a video package to open the show. This package highlights some of the main feuds heading into tonight. The video package opening the show was very impressive, with R-Truth cutting a promo. A little different from the standard WWE PPV opening.
The pyro hits and Michael Cole wishes us a Happy Father's Day, as well as welcomes us to the PPV. Kofi Kingston's music hits, and it looks like the United States Championship match will be kicking things off tonight.
United States Championship
Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
The bell rings and we're ready to begin. Both men lock up and trade holds for a bit before Kofi takes Ziggler down to the mat. It's not long before both men are back up and continuing the chain wrestling. Ziggler puts Kofi down with a shoulderblock, but Kofi comes back with a flying shoulderblock of his own. Ziggler comes back with a blow to the back of Kofi's head, but Kofi responds with a beautiful dropkick. Kofi goes into the corner to catch Dolph, and launches him out with a huge monkey flip. Kofi tries for the trouble in paradise but Ziggler counters, and follows up with a rocker dropper for a near fall.
Ziggler stomps away at Kofi and chokes him against the bottom rope. Kofi tries to fight back, and he's able to surprise Ziggler with a backslide, but Ziggler pops up and hits a dropkick for another two count. Ziggler stares down at a prone Kingston for a bit before connecting with a big elbow drop. Ziggler locks in a rear chin lock, trying to wear down Kofi.
Kofi fights out of it and catches Ziggler with a quick roll up, but Ziggler kicks out. Kofi is able to get another creative roll up but it's still not enough. Kingston goes for a splash in the corner but Ziggler moves and Kofi crashes into the turnbuckle before eating a big German suplex from Ziggler for another near fall. Ziggler locks in an arm bar but Kofi fights up to his feet and out of the hold fairly quickly. Ziggler tries for the sleeper but Kofi drops down to his butt to prevent the move. Ziggler goes for a splash in the corner and this time Kingston moves and Ziggler crashes and burns in the corner. Ziggler runs out into a series of big chops from Kofi, followed by a big dropkick. Kofi tries for the SOS but Ziggler counters. Kofi goes to the second rope and hits a cross body block across Ziggler's back, which is good for another two count.
Kingston psychs himself up and hits the boom drop to the delight of the crowd. Kofi goes for the trouble in paradise but Ziggler ducks it. Kofi goes for the SOS instead, connecting this time, but it's still not enough to keep Ziggler down for the three count. Ziggler catches Kofi in a small package but only gets two. Both men trade near falls. Kofi counters a rocker dropper into an almost powerbomb, which is countered into a roll up, which is countered into a double stomp by Kofi onto Ziggler, but it's still only enough for two. Kofi goes to the ring apron and then up to the top turnbuckle, but he's caught by Dolph.
Ziggler goes for a superplex, but Kingston fights him off and hits him with a front suplex from the top. Kingston hits a giant cross body, but he still can't keep Ziggler down for the count. Kofi picks Ziggler up and goes for the SOS again, but Ziggler counters into the sleeper. Kingston ducks into the corner and causes Ziggler's face to go crashing into the top turnbuckle. Kofi goes for trouble in paradise but misses. Ziggler goes for the Zig Zag, but Kingston counters by holding on to the ropes. Vickie uses a distraction to gouge Kofi's eyes and Ziggler locks in the sleeper, not letting Kofi get to the ropes. The referee calls for the bell as it looks like Kofi is out. He gets the belt and hands it to Dolph.
Winner (by KO) and NEW WWE US Champion: Dolph Ziggler
Backstage:
A limo is shown pulling up backstage and R-Truth gets out with a big smile on his face, and the WWE Championship over his shoulder. Josh Matthews tries to interrupt, but Truth says he's on his way to a party and he's invited. He passes Eve and invites her to the party as well. Eve says she doesn't know who he is, and Truth says no one knows who he is anymore. Truth says he's like to dedicate this victory to all the little Jimmy's, and the little Jenny's, ending with 'that's the Truth'. Truth says 'be gone' and waves Eve off.
Backstage:
Todd Grisham is backstage with the Miz. Miz says he's a former WWE Champion, and he's sick of hearing about Alex Riley. He calls Alex Riley a rescue dog that he saved from NXT. Miz says all he was good for was carrying a briefcase, and that's all he's ever done, and after tonight, Riley can go back to being someone's bag carrier. Miz ends with his signature line, letting us know who he is, and what he thinks of himself.
- We get a video package that details the events that have led up to this match, from WWE NXT, all the way to Riley's turn on the Miz.
The Miz vs. Alex Riley
Miz has the briefcase in hand and he shows it to Riley before the match, yelling at him, so Riley kicks Miz in the gut and takes the fight to him, delivering punches down on the mat. The Miz bails from the ring and tries to run around and tries Riley, but Riley comes in and continues to beat down Miz in the corner. The ref pulls Riley away and this allows Miz to sneak in a couple of quick shots to turn the tide of the match. Miz lays in with a couple of big knees to the guts before delivering a kick to the face to a sitting Riley. Miz lays in with a couple of big punches to Riley before picking him up and tearing at his face.
Miz stomps and kicks at Riley before delivering a sick DDT to Riley, who is on his knees. Miz hits the running kick to the face to a sitting Riley again and then he stares down the crowd, then Riley, for a bit. Riley struggles to get back to his feet, and Miz takes him right down with a big right hand. Riley gets up again, and Miz takes him down once more. A third time, and Riley pushes Miz into the corner and buries his shoulder into Miz's gut, but when he charges the Miz, Miz moves and Riley's shoulder connects with the ring post and he falls to the outside. Miz follows out and delivers a running boot to Riley's face before sending him back into the ring.
Miz pulls Riley's head out of the ring, and from the floor delivers a running kick to the head, but it's only good enough to put Riley down for a two count Miz taunts Riley, but Riley connects with a big right hand. Miz is able to lock in a rear chin lock, and Riley falls down to the mat.
Riley begins to fight up to his feet, and hits Miz with a couple of punches to the gut, but Miz turns Riley around and delivers a reverse DDT for another two count. Miz looks shocked as he has his hands over his mouth and is shaking his head. Miz gets to his feet and connects with his signature clothesline in the corner. Miz goes to the top and leaps off with a double ax handle smash, but when he goes for the pin, Riley still kicks out at two.
Miz picks Riley up and places him on the top rope, pulling him down into a tree of woe. Miz stomps at Riley's midsection before backing up. Miz goes for a low dropkick to Riley's face but Riley curls himself up and Miz crotches himself on the ring post. Miz charges Riley in the opposite corner and Riley shoulder checks him away. Riley sends Miz from corner to corner and connects with a big spine buster which is good for a two count. Riley goes toward Miz but Miz throws him to the outside. Riley retaliates with an awesome jumping kick to the side of Miz's head as it sticks through the middle and third ropes. Riley takes Miz to the outside where he slams him into the ringside barricade and also the announcer's table. Cole begins berating Riley, so Riley grabs him by the tie and pulls him over the table, to the delight of Booker and Lawler.
Miz sends Riley back into the ring and grabs the briefcase. Back in the ring the ref wrestles the briefcase away from Miz, and Miz turns around into an Impaler DDT from Riley. Riley makes the pin, and gets the three count, and the crowd explodes.
Winner: Alex Riley
Riley celebrates while both Miz and Michael Cole look miserable.
Backstage:
Sergeant Slaughter is backstage with an Obama impersonator. The impersonator says that if an illegal Mexican runs over and giant with his car, both are covered by ObamaCare. Vickie Guerrero walks in and says she's so happy about Dolph Ziggler's victory earlier, she wants to sing. She beings to sing happy father's day, in the happy bithday tune, and the secret service drags her away.
- We get a video package that highlights the history between Show and Del Rio over the past couple of months, including Ricardo hitting Show with one of Del Rio's cars, that have led to this match.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show
Alberto Del Rio is the first man to make his way to the ring, riding in a fantastic Mercedes SLS AMG. Del Rio, unfortunately, does not have his own personal ring announcer tonight, due to the actions of the Big Show. But have no fear, Del Rio has dedicated the match to Ricardo.
Big Show runs out from behind Del Rio during his entrance and attacks him from behind. Show tosses Del Rio into the ring, and Del Rio runs right out. Show follows and hits him with a huge chop to the chest before throwing him hard into the timekeeper's area. Show sends Del Rio into the ring, and he's attacked from behind by Mark Henry who throws Show over the announce table, scattering all the announcers. Henry picks up Show and delivers a gigantic World's strongest slam through the Spanish announce table.
Henry walks away calmly, but then stalks right back, and picks up Show by his injured leg, slamming it straight down into the announce table. Del Rio is demanding that the ref get back into the ring and deliver the ten count.
We get a replay of Henry's attack on Show, and there's still no official decision on the match yet.
Show struggles to make it to his feet on the arena floor. The referee begins the count, and Show looks like he's not going to be able to get to his feet. Show pulls himself to his feet using the ring ropes, and rolls into the ring. The ref asks Show if he's sure he wants to continue, and Show gets to his feet. The ref rings the bell and Del Rio tries to attack, but he's thrown away by Show. Show goes for the chokeslam, but Del Rio kicks at Show's injured leg. Del Rio hits a dropkick to the knee, and keeps Show down with repeated kicks to the face, but when he goes for the pin, Show easily pushes out of it. Del Rio goes for a kick, but Show grabs his foot and shoves him away. Show goes for a chokeslam and gets a bit of it, but his knee gives out, and Del Rio rolls to the outside.
Del Rio gets back up to the ring apron and hangs Show up on the top rope, but when he goes to the top, Show gets his hand around Del Rio's throat. Del Rio kicks at Show's leg again, avoiding the chokeslam. Del Rio goes for the cross arm breaker, but Show blocks it by standing and dropping Del Rio down hard on his back. Del Rio begs off, but then hits a dropkick to Show's leg and hooks on a knee bar, wrenching away and putting pressure on Show's knee. Show is able to make it to the ropes to force a break.
Show struggles to get back up to his feet, using the ring ropes for support. Del Rio stalks Show. Show gets to his feet, but falls back to his knees. The ref says if Show can't get to his feet he'll have to call the match. Show gets to his feet, than falls flat on his stomach. The ref talks to Show for a bit, then calls the match due to Show's inability to compete.
Winner: Alberto Del Rio
Del Rio is quick to celebrate as soon as he's announced as the winner. He stares down Show with a bad look in his eyes, but the ref is quick to back him off as trainers come down to check out Show. Show is helped to the back by trainers and Del Rio continues to celebrate in the ring.
Backstage:
Truth is backstage with a photographer, and he's saying the photographer might as well go ahead and take pictures of Truth with the belt, because he'll be tired and sweaty after the match. The photographer points out that Cena's name is on the belt, and Truth freaks out, and says he's talking about pictures and the Photographer's talking about name plates. Truth says tonight he will win the Championship, then storms off.
In the Arena:
Wader Barrett is backstage with Matt Striker. Barrett takes the mic and says he'll take it from here, walking through the backstage area. Barrett says they're in the nation's capitol, and he's glad to be here, because he knows what this place needs, and it's a king or a queen. Barrett walks out on the entrance ramp. He asks isn't this the same place where someone had to resign from elected office due to tweeting pictures of himself in his underwear. Barrett then runs down the Educational system, and the national debt. He then says everyone in the arena will be speaking Chinese in 20 years. He says America is nice from the outside, but inside is a hollow shell, much like his opponent Ezekiel Jackson. He says that he is a very well read man, and he can quote to Zeke, like Zeke likes quoting himself. He says everyone here tonight is going to witness Barrett destroy Jackson.
Intercontinental Championship
Wade Barrett (c) vs. Ezekiel Jackson
The bell rings and the crowd chants USA, and neither competitor is American as Barrett is British and Jackson is from South Africa. Jackson knocks Barrett to the mat and chases him into the corner. Barrett comes out with punches to the head, and Jackson hoists Barrett up into the rack, but Barrett wiggles right out of it. Barrett goes for a clothesline and Jackson ducks, laying in with some huge blows across the back. Jackson goes for a splash in the corner, but Barrett moves, so Jackson hits him with a clothesline to the back of the head instead. Barrett catches Jackson with a quick kick to the knee, and he follows it up with a boot to the face for a near fall. Jackson tries to fight back, but Barrett comes up with a big side walk slam, which is good for another two.
Barrett locks in a rear chin lock, and Jackson fights up to his feet. Barrett goes for a pump handle slam, but Jackson fights out of it, so Barrett counters into a roll up for a two count. Barrett catches Jackson with a kick to the gut, and follows up with a big pump handle slam, for another near fall. Barrett catches Jackson with a big kick and stomps away at him in the corner. Barrett lays in with punches and kicks, catching some anger from the referee. Barrett goes for a big boot in the corner, but Jackson moves and Barrett winds up hung up on the top turnbuckle. Jackson hits Barrett with three big splashes, then a fourth in the corner. Barrett tries for a splash of his own, but Jackson moves. Barrett is able to get Jackson on his shoulders and he delivers the wasteland, but Jackson kicks out at a two count.
Barrett lays into Jackson with several clubbing blows to the face, but when Barrett goes for a kick, Jackson catches his foot, and delivers a body slam. Then a second, and third. Then a fourth. Jackson lifts Barrett up on his shoulders and locks him in the torture rack, forcing Barrett to tap out.
Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Ezekiel Jackson
After the match, Jerry Lawler makes his way into the ring, and asks Jackson how it feels to be the new Intercontinental Champion. Jackson says it's the greatest day of his life. It's great. He says he beat Barrett in the nation's capitol of Washington D.C. He says in his life, the most important things are liberty, and the personification of domination. Jackson screams and walks to the back.
Backstage:
'Obama' is backstage with Beth Phoenix, Santino, and Kelly Kelly. Santino asks if the impersonator wants to learn the Cobra. He begins to teach him the move, but he's taken down by the 'secret service'.
Backstage:
Josh Matthews is backstage with CM Punk. Punk says Washington DC is the birthplace of the straight edge movement, but what it's known for is the scum of politicians. He says Matthews called him a politician earlier, and that's ok, because the difference between him and the other wrestlers here, is that he tells the truth. He says Mysterio is lying through his mask, and he's trying to get rich just like Punk and everyone else. The difference is Punk will tell you he's using you. He says tonight after he wins the match, he's going to go out and do the most honest thing the WWE Universe has ever seen.
CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
The bell rings, and a surprising amount of the crowd seems to be pro-Punk. Punk backs Mysterio into the corner with a couple of whiffing kicks, but then allows him to back out. Punk and Mysterio trade a couple of holds, wrestling down to the mat and back up again. Mysterio takes Punk over with an inventive snap mare, and Punk looks surprised. Punk backs Mysterio into the corner, and goes for an elbow, but Mysterio avoids it and kicks at the backs of Punk's legs. Punk slams Mysterio to the mat and goes for a quick pin but only gets one. Punk takes Mysterio down with a big shoulderblock. Punk connects with a boot to the gut, and Mysterio begins fighting back, taking Punk off of his feet and down to the mat with a quick roll up. Mysterio catches Punk with a dropkick that sends him into the ropes, but Punk rolls out to the floor. Mysterio hits Punk with a dropkick through the ropes, but when he goes out to the apron and leaps off onto Punk, Punk dumps him over into the barricade.
Punk sends Mysterio back into the ring and goes for a couple of quick pins, alternating with stomping on Mysterio. Punk buries his knees in Mysterio's back and stretches him backward holding on to Mysterio's chin and legs. Mysterio counters out into a quick pin but Punk kicks out and goes right back on the attack with a quick stomp. Punk locks Mysterio in a body scissors and yells at him to give up, but Mysterio won't quit. Mysterio pulls at Punk's feet, breaking the hold and punching at Punk's knee. Mysterio runs to Punk but gets caught with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for another two count, then locks in another body scissors.
Punk continues to wear down Mysterio, but Mysterio fights out of the hold. Mysterio hits a hurricarana to send Punk into the ropes, but when Mysterio goes for the 619, Punk counters with a giant clothesline. Punk hits Mysterio with a couple of knees to the stomach before locking in an abdominal stretch.
Mysterio fights out of the stretch, and catches Punk with a drop toe hold sending Punk face first into the middle turnbuckle. Mysterio kicks Punk away and goes to the top, but Punk kicks him into the tree of woe, and catches him with a dropkick to the face, going right into a pin for a two count. Punk picks Mysterio up and shoves him into the ropes, hitting him with a head butt to the stomach, then another. When he goes for a third, Mysterio catches him with a kick to the chest, and a weird headscissors sending Punk over the top and to the floor. Mysterio his an asai moonsault from the ring apron out on top of Punk.
Back in the ring, Mysterio goes to the top and hits a standing Punk with a diving head butt. Mysterio connects with a springboard cross body and Punk rolls through into a pin for two. Punk and Mysterio trade an awesome series of almost kicks that ends with Mysterio laying in a kick to the side of Punk's head, but it's not enough to keep him down for a three count.
Mysterio goes back to the top, but Punk stops him, taking him up and executing a super belly to back suplex. Punk goes for the pin, but he's only able to get two. Punk hits the running knee in the corner to Mysterio, sending him back into the corner. Punk goes into the corner, but Mysterio moves, and Punk's shoulder connects with the ring post. Mysterio hits a 619 in the corner, sending Punk to the outside. Mysterio goes to the outside and struggles, but he's able to get Punk back into the ring. Mysterio goes for the flying press from the top, but Punk gets his knees up. Punk goes for the pin but he's only able to get a two count. Punk calls for the G2S, laying in to Mysterio with a series of knees to the gut. Punk goes for the G2S and Mysterio counters into a roll up for two.
Punk connects with a huge kick to the side of Mysterio's head, but it's still not enough to keep him down for the three count. Punk picks up Mysterio and tries for the G2S again, but Mysterio reverses into an arm drag, sending Punk into 619 position. Punk counters the 619, shouldering Mysterio and delivering a huge G2S. Punk pins Mysterio, and this one is over.
Winner: CM Punk
- We get a video package that details the history between Christian and Randy Orton, and the heel turn by Christian that ultimately led to their match.
World Heavyweight Championship
Randy Orton (c) vs. Christian
Randy Orton is the first man to make his way out to the ring, and as soon as his music hits he gets a monster pop from this DC crowd.
Christian is the next man out, and he gets a bit of heat, but not really much of a reaction at all from this crowd.
We get some formal ring introductions for both men and we are ready to go!
The bell rings and Christian shoves Orton, so Orton lays in with a right hand, then a series of them, then a kick to Christian's chest. Orton takes Christian down with a big shoulderblock, then hits a big stomp. Christian fights back with a couple of slaps to the face. Christian ducks a clothesline, but he falls to a Thesz press. Orton locks in a side headlock, then takes Christian down with a shoulderblock. Another shoulderblock from Orton, and another side headlock.
Christian fights out of the hold with a couple of big clubbing blows, but when Christian goes for a dropkick from the middle rope, Orton swats him away. Orton walks over to Christian and Christian tosses Orton to the outside before delivering a dropkick through the ropes and out to the floor on Orton. Christian launches himself over the ropes but Orton moves and Christian crashes into the ground. Orton rolls Christian into the ring and goes for the cover but Christian kicks out at two. Orton gets Christian in the corner and mounts him for a series of ten punches. Orton climbs down and goes across the ring to build up momentum to clothesline Christian over the top rope. Orton goes for his rope assisted DDT on the outside, using the ring steps instead, but Christian reverses it and puts down the champ. Christian rolls Orton back into the ring and goes for the cover but he's only able to get a two count.
Christian stands on Orton's chest in the corner, driving the air out of his lungs, before pulling him to his feet and delivering a quick neckbreaker. Christian rips at Orton's face before wrenching his neck. Orton fights up to his feet and out of the hold, but Christian sends him into the corner. Christian charges and Orton counters with a roll up for two. Christian picks Orton up and slams him down with a spinebuster, but it's still not enough for a three count. Christian mounts Orton and delivers a huge right hand to the champ. Orton's eyes look glazed over.
Christian tries to send Orton into the corner, but Orton reverses and whips Christian in hard. Orton struggles to his feet, and when he gets there he immediately back body drops Christian to the mat. Orton lays in to Christian with a series of huge clubbing blows across the chest. Orton grabs at his head. Orton picks Christian up but Christian reverses. Orton fights it off and hits a couple of big clotheslines and the snap scoop slam.
Orton hits Christian with a big belly to belly suplex, but it's only good for a near fall. Orton goes for his rope assisted DDT, but Christian fights out of it, snaps Orton's head on the ropes and hits him with a big right hand. Christian tries to suplex Orton from the inside to the outside of the ring, but Orton fights it off with a head butt. Christian goes to the corner, and Orton takes him up to the top and delivers a superplex, but he can only keep Christian down for a two count, and Orton keeps grabbing at his head. Orton and Christian both get to their feet, trading right hands, and Orton goes for the RKO, Christian almost counters into the killswitch, but Orton fights it off, picks Christian up on his shoulder and delivers a big neckbreaker.
Christian goes for the killswitch again but Orton fights out. Orton goes for the RKO, but Christian sees it coming and goes to the outside. Christian goes out to the ring apron and Orton brings him back into the ring with his rope assisted DDT. Orton falls to the mat and begins pounding on it to psych himself up. Orton goes for the RKO but Christian reverses it into a reverse DDT. Christian goes for the pin but Orton kicks out at two!
Christian gets himself hyped up in the corner while he waits for Orton to get up. Christian goes for the spear but Orton jumps over him. Orton goes for the RKO but Christian pushes him away and delivers a spear when Orton gets to his feet. Christian goes for the pin but he only gets two and he looks distraught.
Christian is able to catch Orton with his kicks in the corner. Christian goes to the top and leaps over Orton, but Orton is able to catch Christian with a big RKO. Orton pins Christian and he's able to get the three count, but it looked to me like Christian's leg may have been under the rope.
Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Randy Orton
After the match, Christian complains to the ref about his foot being under the rope while Orton celebrates with his title. Orton sees this going on and he doesn't look happy. He waits for Christian to turn around and Orton blasts Christian with the belt. Orton says 'payback's a b****', before mounting the turnbuckle and continuing his celebration.
- The Bella Twins make their way out to the ring with Keystone Light spokesman Keith Stone. Focus then shifts over the Michael Cole who brings up the WWE Championship match that will be taking place tonight. This segues right into a video package that highlights R-Truth's conspiracy theories, and the events that have led up to his Championship match with John Cena tonight.
"Bonus Attraction Match"
Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne
As a bonus attraction, apparently we're going to be treated to another match. Jack Swagger is the first participant to make his way out to the ring. Unsurprisingly, Swagger's opponent is a man who he's had a lot of problems with recently, Evan Bourne, who gets a great reaction from the crowd.
The bell rings and Swagger begins man-handling Bourne, picking him up and slamming him down to the mat. Swagger attempts to wear Bourne down with a couple of submissions, but Bourne uses his speed and agility to fight his way out of them. Bourne goes for a hip toss but Swagger blocks so Bourne hits a hurricarana instead. Bourne utilizes his speed to run circles around Swagger but he's caught and slammed chest first into Swagger's knee. Swagger picks Bourne up and slams him chest first right down into the ring. Swagger buries his elbow in Bourne's midsection repeatedly.
Swagger locks in a rear chin lock and Keith Stone and the Bella's are shown looking on. Swagger does pushups while pressing down on Bourne's back. Bourne lays in with a kick to the side of Swagger's head, but he eats a back body drop that's good for a near fall for Swagger. Swagger drags Bourne into the corner and wears him out, smashing his face into the middle turnbuckle before sending him across the ring and hitting the running Vader bomb. Swagger goes for the pin but Bourne is still able to kick out at two. Swagger stomps straight down on Bourne's chest. The crowd is dead.
Swagger continues to beat on Bourne with big clubbing blows. Swagger talks some smack to Bourne, and Bourne responds with a hurricarana. Evan lays in to Swagger with a series of stiff kicks, but Swagger picks Bourne up and slams him down. Swagger goes for the Vader bomb again but this time Bourne kicks straight up. Bourne hits the double knees to Swagger's chest, and a giant kick to the face but he's still only able to get a two count. Swagger connects with a big boot out of nowhere and he's able to get a two count.
Bourne goes to the top and fights Swagger off with knees to the face. Bourne comes off and plants Swagger with a GIANT DDT. Bourne goes for the pin but Swagger is still able to kick out at two. Bourne hits a big kick to the side of Swagger's head, then lays him out with a back heel kick. Bourne goes for the shooting star press but Swagger moves. Bourne lands on his feet. Swagger goes for the gut wrench but Bourne counters into a roll up. Swagger counters into the ankle lock, which Bourne counters into another roll up, this time catching Jack Swagger for the three count.

In the Arena:
The presidential impersonator makes his way out to the entrance ramp, and US Army members are actually shown saluting. The crowd doesn't seem interested in this at all. 'Obama' says it's an honor to be here tonight and he has many WWE memories. He says on Monday's when he tells the cabinet he's working on the budget, he's watching Raw. He says he wants to say that he's not the anonymous GM, because if he was there'd be less Michael Cole, and more JR. He wishes good luck to both Cena and R-Truth. He says it's funny because Truth is like the Joe Biden of the WWE, he can't understand what he's saying but it sure is a hoot. The crowd is crapping on this. He says Teddy Long is like a combination of he and George W. Bush, he's either doing the right thing or nothing at all. He closes out with God bless the crowd and the US.
'Obama's' exit is interrupted by Booker T, who invites the 'president' into the ring, calling him 'homie'. Booker says it's an honer to meet the president. He says he's made history in the United States, and all over the world, being the first black man elected president. Being the first president of the U.S. to receive the Nobel peace prize, but he asks him if he can do the spin-a-roonie. Booker says he'll show him how to do it first and if he can, everyone in the oval office will go nuts. Booker's music hits, and Booker drops down to one knee, executing the spin-a-roonie. 'Obama' says that was pretty cool, then asks the crowd if they want to see the 'Barack-a-roonie'. Booker's music hits, and 'Obama' drops down to the mat an delivers a terrible spin-a-roonie. Booker asks the crowd to give it up for the 'president', and I feel like the WWE was trying to make me dumber for putting that segment on PPV.
- For some reason, the WWE feels the need to kill even more time, so we're getting another video package, highlighting Cena, and his rise his latest WWE Championship, and the fight that R-Truth has been trying to bring to him for several months now.
WWE Championship
John Cena (c) vs. R-Truth
R-Truth is the first man to make his way out to the ring, with his non-music, and Cena's belt on his arm. Cena's music hits, and the real Champion, minus the belt, makes his way out to the ring to a big pop. Cena says he's here at the capitol.
We get some formal ring introductions for both men, and we're finally ready to kick off our main event of the evening.
The bell rings and both men circle each other before locking up. Truth locks in a head lock and Cena falls to the mat to break the hold. The crowd is about 50/50 in terms of Cena love and hate. Cena takes Truth down to the mat and Truth rolls to the outside to avoid further damage. Truth makes his way back into the ring and Cena goes behind Truth only to catch an elbow to the eye. Truth pound on Cena in the corner, laying in with a series of right hands. Truth chokes Cena with his boot. Cena comes back by sending Truth across the ring and sending him face first into the mat. Cena goes for a right hand to Truth's face but Truth grabs on to the ropes and goes to the outside again.
Truth makes his way back into the ring again and he runs right into Cena who goes for the AA. Truth fights out of it and connects with a big sit out front suplex. Truth takes Cena into the corner again and chokes him with his boot on Cena's throat. Cena fights back with a series of right's but Truth takes Cena right down with a big side kick. Truth catches Cena with a big right hand that sends him down to the mat. Truth executes a splits in the middle of the ring to showboat, before delivering a big leg drop to Cena which is good for a two count.
Truth locks in a front face lock, but Cena is able to fight up to his feet and out of the hold with a big head butt to Truth's chest. Truth is able to come right back with a big corkscrew elbow, but it's still not enough to put Cena away as he kicks out of the pin at two. Truth runs at Cena and hits him with a big flying forearm to the face with is good for another near fall. Truth stomps away at Cena and berates him while Cena tries to pick himself up using Truth. Truth slaps Cena across the face.
Cena rolls out to the apron and uses the ropes to pull himself up to his feet. Cena grabs Truth's head and snaps him down throat first over the top rope. Cena comes back into the ring but Truth lays him out with a quick clothesline that's good for another two count. Truth poses for the crowd before going to the corner and laying in to Cena with a couple of right hands to the stomach. Truth hits a back elbow to the back of Cena's head before laying in with a couple more stomps. Cena uses Truth to get up to his feet, and Truth launches Cena across the ring before hitting a giant hip toss for another two count. Truth locks in another rear chin lock.
Truth changes it up with a body scissors, continuing to wear down the champion. Cena pulls Truths legs apart and tries to counter into the STF, but Truth grabs the ropes. Cena backs off, and then runs right into a big clothesline for another near fall for Truth.
Truth hits Cena with a big suplex and goes for another quick pin, but he's only able to get a two count. Truth goes for another big leg drop, but Cena is able to avoid it and hit a couple of big running shoulderblocks. Cena hits a belly to back suplex, then postures to the crowd. Cena connects with the five knuckle shuffle, but when he goes for the AA, Truth counters into a suplex stunner. Truth goes for the pin but Cena is able to kick out at two.
Truth sets himself up in the corner and charges across the ring with a splash. Cena moves and he's able to lock in an STF. Truth gets to the ropes and Cena breaks at three. Truth kicks Cena in the knee and follows up with a beautiful scissors kick. Truth goes for the pin but Cena is still able to kick out at two. Truth goes up to the top turnbuckle, pausing at the top. Truth comes off with a cross body, but Cena rolls through picking Cena up. Cena goes for a slam but Truth counters into the lie detector. Truth goes for the pin but Cena kicks out at two and rolls to the outside.
Truth follows to the outside where he takes off a Cena fan's hat and steals his drink. The kid then tosses the drink back in Truth's face. Cena sends Truth back into the ring and delivers a quick AA. Cena pins Truth, and this one is over.
Winner and STILL WWE Champion: John Cena
John Cena grabs the young fans hat, then takes it out to him. Cena brings the young fan into the ring and holds his arm up in celebration. Cena sends the fan out of the ring, and Lawler comments that he hopes the young man's name is Jimmy. They air replays as the show ends.

WWE Capitol Punishment Opener:
We get a video package to open the show. This package highlights some of the main feuds heading into tonight. The video package opening the show was very impressive, with R-Truth cutting a promo. A little different from the standard WWE PPV opening.
The pyro hits and Michael Cole wishes us a Happy Father's Day, as well as welcomes us to the PPV. Kofi Kingston's music hits, and it looks like the United States Championship match will be kicking things off tonight.
United States Championship
Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
The bell rings and we're ready to begin. Both men lock up and trade holds for a bit before Kofi takes Ziggler down to the mat. It's not long before both men are back up and continuing the chain wrestling. Ziggler puts Kofi down with a shoulderblock, but Kofi comes back with a flying shoulderblock of his own. Ziggler comes back with a blow to the back of Kofi's head, but Kofi responds with a beautiful dropkick. Kofi goes into the corner to catch Dolph, and launches him out with a huge monkey flip. Kofi tries for the trouble in paradise but Ziggler counters, and follows up with a rocker dropper for a near fall.
Ziggler stomps away at Kofi and chokes him against the bottom rope. Kofi tries to fight back, and he's able to surprise Ziggler with a backslide, but Ziggler pops up and hits a dropkick for another two count. Ziggler stares down at a prone Kingston for a bit before connecting with a big elbow drop. Ziggler locks in a rear chin lock, trying to wear down Kofi.
Kofi fights out of it and catches Ziggler with a quick roll up, but Ziggler kicks out. Kofi is able to get another creative roll up but it's still not enough. Kingston goes for a splash in the corner but Ziggler moves and Kofi crashes into the turnbuckle before eating a big German suplex from Ziggler for another near fall. Ziggler locks in an arm bar but Kofi fights up to his feet and out of the hold fairly quickly. Ziggler tries for the sleeper but Kofi drops down to his butt to prevent the move. Ziggler goes for a splash in the corner and this time Kingston moves and Ziggler crashes and burns in the corner. Ziggler runs out into a series of big chops from Kofi, followed by a big dropkick. Kofi tries for the SOS but Ziggler counters. Kofi goes to the second rope and hits a cross body block across Ziggler's back, which is good for another two count.
Kingston psychs himself up and hits the boom drop to the delight of the crowd. Kofi goes for the trouble in paradise but Ziggler ducks it. Kofi goes for the SOS instead, connecting this time, but it's still not enough to keep Ziggler down for the three count. Ziggler catches Kofi in a small package but only gets two. Both men trade near falls. Kofi counters a rocker dropper into an almost powerbomb, which is countered into a roll up, which is countered into a double stomp by Kofi onto Ziggler, but it's still only enough for two. Kofi goes to the ring apron and then up to the top turnbuckle, but he's caught by Dolph.
Ziggler goes for a superplex, but Kingston fights him off and hits him with a front suplex from the top. Kingston hits a giant cross body, but he still can't keep Ziggler down for the count. Kofi picks Ziggler up and goes for the SOS again, but Ziggler counters into the sleeper. Kingston ducks into the corner and causes Ziggler's face to go crashing into the top turnbuckle. Kofi goes for trouble in paradise but misses. Ziggler goes for the Zig Zag, but Kingston counters by holding on to the ropes. Vickie uses a distraction to gouge Kofi's eyes and Ziggler locks in the sleeper, not letting Kofi get to the ropes. The referee calls for the bell as it looks like Kofi is out. He gets the belt and hands it to Dolph.

Backstage:
A limo is shown pulling up backstage and R-Truth gets out with a big smile on his face, and the WWE Championship over his shoulder. Josh Matthews tries to interrupt, but Truth says he's on his way to a party and he's invited. He passes Eve and invites her to the party as well. Eve says she doesn't know who he is, and Truth says no one knows who he is anymore. Truth says he's like to dedicate this victory to all the little Jimmy's, and the little Jenny's, ending with 'that's the Truth'. Truth says 'be gone' and waves Eve off.
Backstage:
Todd Grisham is backstage with the Miz. Miz says he's a former WWE Champion, and he's sick of hearing about Alex Riley. He calls Alex Riley a rescue dog that he saved from NXT. Miz says all he was good for was carrying a briefcase, and that's all he's ever done, and after tonight, Riley can go back to being someone's bag carrier. Miz ends with his signature line, letting us know who he is, and what he thinks of himself.
- We get a video package that details the events that have led up to this match, from WWE NXT, all the way to Riley's turn on the Miz.
The Miz vs. Alex Riley
Miz has the briefcase in hand and he shows it to Riley before the match, yelling at him, so Riley kicks Miz in the gut and takes the fight to him, delivering punches down on the mat. The Miz bails from the ring and tries to run around and tries Riley, but Riley comes in and continues to beat down Miz in the corner. The ref pulls Riley away and this allows Miz to sneak in a couple of quick shots to turn the tide of the match. Miz lays in with a couple of big knees to the guts before delivering a kick to the face to a sitting Riley. Miz lays in with a couple of big punches to Riley before picking him up and tearing at his face.
Miz stomps and kicks at Riley before delivering a sick DDT to Riley, who is on his knees. Miz hits the running kick to the face to a sitting Riley again and then he stares down the crowd, then Riley, for a bit. Riley struggles to get back to his feet, and Miz takes him right down with a big right hand. Riley gets up again, and Miz takes him down once more. A third time, and Riley pushes Miz into the corner and buries his shoulder into Miz's gut, but when he charges the Miz, Miz moves and Riley's shoulder connects with the ring post and he falls to the outside. Miz follows out and delivers a running boot to Riley's face before sending him back into the ring.
Miz pulls Riley's head out of the ring, and from the floor delivers a running kick to the head, but it's only good enough to put Riley down for a two count Miz taunts Riley, but Riley connects with a big right hand. Miz is able to lock in a rear chin lock, and Riley falls down to the mat.
Riley begins to fight up to his feet, and hits Miz with a couple of punches to the gut, but Miz turns Riley around and delivers a reverse DDT for another two count. Miz looks shocked as he has his hands over his mouth and is shaking his head. Miz gets to his feet and connects with his signature clothesline in the corner. Miz goes to the top and leaps off with a double ax handle smash, but when he goes for the pin, Riley still kicks out at two.
Miz picks Riley up and places him on the top rope, pulling him down into a tree of woe. Miz stomps at Riley's midsection before backing up. Miz goes for a low dropkick to Riley's face but Riley curls himself up and Miz crotches himself on the ring post. Miz charges Riley in the opposite corner and Riley shoulder checks him away. Riley sends Miz from corner to corner and connects with a big spine buster which is good for a two count. Riley goes toward Miz but Miz throws him to the outside. Riley retaliates with an awesome jumping kick to the side of Miz's head as it sticks through the middle and third ropes. Riley takes Miz to the outside where he slams him into the ringside barricade and also the announcer's table. Cole begins berating Riley, so Riley grabs him by the tie and pulls him over the table, to the delight of Booker and Lawler.
Miz sends Riley back into the ring and grabs the briefcase. Back in the ring the ref wrestles the briefcase away from Miz, and Miz turns around into an Impaler DDT from Riley. Riley makes the pin, and gets the three count, and the crowd explodes.
Winner: Alex Riley
Riley celebrates while both Miz and Michael Cole look miserable.
Backstage:
Sergeant Slaughter is backstage with an Obama impersonator. The impersonator says that if an illegal Mexican runs over and giant with his car, both are covered by ObamaCare. Vickie Guerrero walks in and says she's so happy about Dolph Ziggler's victory earlier, she wants to sing. She beings to sing happy father's day, in the happy bithday tune, and the secret service drags her away.
- We get a video package that highlights the history between Show and Del Rio over the past couple of months, including Ricardo hitting Show with one of Del Rio's cars, that have led to this match.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show
Alberto Del Rio is the first man to make his way to the ring, riding in a fantastic Mercedes SLS AMG. Del Rio, unfortunately, does not have his own personal ring announcer tonight, due to the actions of the Big Show. But have no fear, Del Rio has dedicated the match to Ricardo.
Big Show runs out from behind Del Rio during his entrance and attacks him from behind. Show tosses Del Rio into the ring, and Del Rio runs right out. Show follows and hits him with a huge chop to the chest before throwing him hard into the timekeeper's area. Show sends Del Rio into the ring, and he's attacked from behind by Mark Henry who throws Show over the announce table, scattering all the announcers. Henry picks up Show and delivers a gigantic World's strongest slam through the Spanish announce table.
Henry walks away calmly, but then stalks right back, and picks up Show by his injured leg, slamming it straight down into the announce table. Del Rio is demanding that the ref get back into the ring and deliver the ten count.
We get a replay of Henry's attack on Show, and there's still no official decision on the match yet.
Show struggles to make it to his feet on the arena floor. The referee begins the count, and Show looks like he's not going to be able to get to his feet. Show pulls himself to his feet using the ring ropes, and rolls into the ring. The ref asks Show if he's sure he wants to continue, and Show gets to his feet. The ref rings the bell and Del Rio tries to attack, but he's thrown away by Show. Show goes for the chokeslam, but Del Rio kicks at Show's injured leg. Del Rio hits a dropkick to the knee, and keeps Show down with repeated kicks to the face, but when he goes for the pin, Show easily pushes out of it. Del Rio goes for a kick, but Show grabs his foot and shoves him away. Show goes for a chokeslam and gets a bit of it, but his knee gives out, and Del Rio rolls to the outside.
Del Rio gets back up to the ring apron and hangs Show up on the top rope, but when he goes to the top, Show gets his hand around Del Rio's throat. Del Rio kicks at Show's leg again, avoiding the chokeslam. Del Rio goes for the cross arm breaker, but Show blocks it by standing and dropping Del Rio down hard on his back. Del Rio begs off, but then hits a dropkick to Show's leg and hooks on a knee bar, wrenching away and putting pressure on Show's knee. Show is able to make it to the ropes to force a break.
Show struggles to get back up to his feet, using the ring ropes for support. Del Rio stalks Show. Show gets to his feet, but falls back to his knees. The ref says if Show can't get to his feet he'll have to call the match. Show gets to his feet, than falls flat on his stomach. The ref talks to Show for a bit, then calls the match due to Show's inability to compete.
Winner: Alberto Del Rio
Del Rio is quick to celebrate as soon as he's announced as the winner. He stares down Show with a bad look in his eyes, but the ref is quick to back him off as trainers come down to check out Show. Show is helped to the back by trainers and Del Rio continues to celebrate in the ring.
Backstage:
Truth is backstage with a photographer, and he's saying the photographer might as well go ahead and take pictures of Truth with the belt, because he'll be tired and sweaty after the match. The photographer points out that Cena's name is on the belt, and Truth freaks out, and says he's talking about pictures and the Photographer's talking about name plates. Truth says tonight he will win the Championship, then storms off.
In the Arena:
Wader Barrett is backstage with Matt Striker. Barrett takes the mic and says he'll take it from here, walking through the backstage area. Barrett says they're in the nation's capitol, and he's glad to be here, because he knows what this place needs, and it's a king or a queen. Barrett walks out on the entrance ramp. He asks isn't this the same place where someone had to resign from elected office due to tweeting pictures of himself in his underwear. Barrett then runs down the Educational system, and the national debt. He then says everyone in the arena will be speaking Chinese in 20 years. He says America is nice from the outside, but inside is a hollow shell, much like his opponent Ezekiel Jackson. He says that he is a very well read man, and he can quote to Zeke, like Zeke likes quoting himself. He says everyone here tonight is going to witness Barrett destroy Jackson.
Intercontinental Championship
Wade Barrett (c) vs. Ezekiel Jackson
The bell rings and the crowd chants USA, and neither competitor is American as Barrett is British and Jackson is from South Africa. Jackson knocks Barrett to the mat and chases him into the corner. Barrett comes out with punches to the head, and Jackson hoists Barrett up into the rack, but Barrett wiggles right out of it. Barrett goes for a clothesline and Jackson ducks, laying in with some huge blows across the back. Jackson goes for a splash in the corner, but Barrett moves, so Jackson hits him with a clothesline to the back of the head instead. Barrett catches Jackson with a quick kick to the knee, and he follows it up with a boot to the face for a near fall. Jackson tries to fight back, but Barrett comes up with a big side walk slam, which is good for another two.
Barrett locks in a rear chin lock, and Jackson fights up to his feet. Barrett goes for a pump handle slam, but Jackson fights out of it, so Barrett counters into a roll up for a two count. Barrett catches Jackson with a kick to the gut, and follows up with a big pump handle slam, for another near fall. Barrett catches Jackson with a big kick and stomps away at him in the corner. Barrett lays in with punches and kicks, catching some anger from the referee. Barrett goes for a big boot in the corner, but Jackson moves and Barrett winds up hung up on the top turnbuckle. Jackson hits Barrett with three big splashes, then a fourth in the corner. Barrett tries for a splash of his own, but Jackson moves. Barrett is able to get Jackson on his shoulders and he delivers the wasteland, but Jackson kicks out at a two count.
Barrett lays into Jackson with several clubbing blows to the face, but when Barrett goes for a kick, Jackson catches his foot, and delivers a body slam. Then a second, and third. Then a fourth. Jackson lifts Barrett up on his shoulders and locks him in the torture rack, forcing Barrett to tap out.
Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Ezekiel Jackson
After the match, Jerry Lawler makes his way into the ring, and asks Jackson how it feels to be the new Intercontinental Champion. Jackson says it's the greatest day of his life. It's great. He says he beat Barrett in the nation's capitol of Washington D.C. He says in his life, the most important things are liberty, and the personification of domination. Jackson screams and walks to the back.
Backstage:
'Obama' is backstage with Beth Phoenix, Santino, and Kelly Kelly. Santino asks if the impersonator wants to learn the Cobra. He begins to teach him the move, but he's taken down by the 'secret service'.
Backstage:
Josh Matthews is backstage with CM Punk. Punk says Washington DC is the birthplace of the straight edge movement, but what it's known for is the scum of politicians. He says Matthews called him a politician earlier, and that's ok, because the difference between him and the other wrestlers here, is that he tells the truth. He says Mysterio is lying through his mask, and he's trying to get rich just like Punk and everyone else. The difference is Punk will tell you he's using you. He says tonight after he wins the match, he's going to go out and do the most honest thing the WWE Universe has ever seen.
CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
The bell rings, and a surprising amount of the crowd seems to be pro-Punk. Punk backs Mysterio into the corner with a couple of whiffing kicks, but then allows him to back out. Punk and Mysterio trade a couple of holds, wrestling down to the mat and back up again. Mysterio takes Punk over with an inventive snap mare, and Punk looks surprised. Punk backs Mysterio into the corner, and goes for an elbow, but Mysterio avoids it and kicks at the backs of Punk's legs. Punk slams Mysterio to the mat and goes for a quick pin but only gets one. Punk takes Mysterio down with a big shoulderblock. Punk connects with a boot to the gut, and Mysterio begins fighting back, taking Punk off of his feet and down to the mat with a quick roll up. Mysterio catches Punk with a dropkick that sends him into the ropes, but Punk rolls out to the floor. Mysterio hits Punk with a dropkick through the ropes, but when he goes out to the apron and leaps off onto Punk, Punk dumps him over into the barricade.
Punk sends Mysterio back into the ring and goes for a couple of quick pins, alternating with stomping on Mysterio. Punk buries his knees in Mysterio's back and stretches him backward holding on to Mysterio's chin and legs. Mysterio counters out into a quick pin but Punk kicks out and goes right back on the attack with a quick stomp. Punk locks Mysterio in a body scissors and yells at him to give up, but Mysterio won't quit. Mysterio pulls at Punk's feet, breaking the hold and punching at Punk's knee. Mysterio runs to Punk but gets caught with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for another two count, then locks in another body scissors.
Punk continues to wear down Mysterio, but Mysterio fights out of the hold. Mysterio hits a hurricarana to send Punk into the ropes, but when Mysterio goes for the 619, Punk counters with a giant clothesline. Punk hits Mysterio with a couple of knees to the stomach before locking in an abdominal stretch.
Mysterio fights out of the stretch, and catches Punk with a drop toe hold sending Punk face first into the middle turnbuckle. Mysterio kicks Punk away and goes to the top, but Punk kicks him into the tree of woe, and catches him with a dropkick to the face, going right into a pin for a two count. Punk picks Mysterio up and shoves him into the ropes, hitting him with a head butt to the stomach, then another. When he goes for a third, Mysterio catches him with a kick to the chest, and a weird headscissors sending Punk over the top and to the floor. Mysterio his an asai moonsault from the ring apron out on top of Punk.
Back in the ring, Mysterio goes to the top and hits a standing Punk with a diving head butt. Mysterio connects with a springboard cross body and Punk rolls through into a pin for two. Punk and Mysterio trade an awesome series of almost kicks that ends with Mysterio laying in a kick to the side of Punk's head, but it's not enough to keep him down for a three count.
Mysterio goes back to the top, but Punk stops him, taking him up and executing a super belly to back suplex. Punk goes for the pin, but he's only able to get two. Punk hits the running knee in the corner to Mysterio, sending him back into the corner. Punk goes into the corner, but Mysterio moves, and Punk's shoulder connects with the ring post. Mysterio hits a 619 in the corner, sending Punk to the outside. Mysterio goes to the outside and struggles, but he's able to get Punk back into the ring. Mysterio goes for the flying press from the top, but Punk gets his knees up. Punk goes for the pin but he's only able to get a two count. Punk calls for the G2S, laying in to Mysterio with a series of knees to the gut. Punk goes for the G2S and Mysterio counters into a roll up for two.
Punk connects with a huge kick to the side of Mysterio's head, but it's still not enough to keep him down for the three count. Punk picks up Mysterio and tries for the G2S again, but Mysterio reverses into an arm drag, sending Punk into 619 position. Punk counters the 619, shouldering Mysterio and delivering a huge G2S. Punk pins Mysterio, and this one is over.

Randy Orton (c) vs. Christian
Randy Orton is the first man to make his way out to the ring, and as soon as his music hits he gets a monster pop from this DC crowd.
Christian is the next man out, and he gets a bit of heat, but not really much of a reaction at all from this crowd.

Orton takes Christian down with a big shoulderblock, then hits a big stomp. Christian fights back with a couple of slaps to the face. Christian ducks a clothesline, but he falls to a Thesz press. Orton locks in a side headlock, then takes Christian down with a shoulderblock. Another shoulderblock from Orton, and another side headlock.
Christian fights out of the hold with a couple of big clubbing blows, but when Christian goes for a dropkick from the middle rope, Orton swats him away. Orton walks over to Christian and Christian tosses Orton to the outside before delivering a dropkick through the ropes and out to the floor on Orton. Christian launches himself over the ropes but Orton moves and Christian crashes into the ground. Orton rolls Christian into the ring and goes for the cover but Christian kicks out at two. Orton gets Christian in the corner and mounts him for a series of ten punches. Orton climbs down and goes across the ring to build up momentum to clothesline Christian over the top rope. Orton goes for his rope assisted DDT on the outside, using the ring steps instead, but Christian reverses it and puts down the champ. Christian rolls Orton back into the ring and goes for the cover but he's only able to get a two count.
Christian stands on Orton's chest in the corner, driving the air out of his lungs, before pulling him to his feet and delivering a quick neckbreaker. Christian rips at Orton's face before wrenching his neck. Orton fights up to his feet and out of the hold, but Christian sends him into the corner. Christian charges and Orton counters with a roll up for two. Christian picks Orton up and slams him down with a spinebuster, but it's still not enough for a three count. Christian mounts Orton and delivers a huge right hand to the champ. Orton's eyes look glazed over.
Christian tries to send Orton into the corner, but Orton reverses and whips Christian in hard. Orton struggles to his feet, and when he gets there he immediately back body drops Christian to the mat. Orton lays in to Christian with a series of huge clubbing blows across the chest. Orton grabs at his head. Orton picks Christian up but Christian reverses. Orton fights it off and hits a couple of big clotheslines and the snap scoop slam.
Orton hits Christian with a big belly to belly suplex, but it's only good for a near fall. Orton goes for his rope assisted DDT, but Christian fights out of it, snaps Orton's head on the ropes and hits him with a big right hand. Christian tries to suplex Orton from the inside to the outside of the ring, but Orton fights it off with a head butt. Christian goes to the corner, and Orton takes him up to the top and delivers a superplex, but he can only keep Christian down for a two count, and Orton keeps grabbing at his head. Orton and Christian both get to their feet, trading right hands, and Orton goes for the RKO, Christian almost counters into the killswitch, but Orton fights it off, picks Christian up on his shoulder and delivers a big neckbreaker.
Christian goes for the killswitch again but Orton fights out. Orton goes for the RKO, but Christian sees it coming and goes to the outside. Christian goes out to the ring apron and Orton brings him back into the ring with his rope assisted DDT. Orton falls to the mat and begins pounding on it to psych himself up. Orton goes for the RKO but Christian reverses it into a reverse DDT. Christian goes for the pin but Orton kicks out at two!
Christian gets himself hyped up in the corner while he waits for Orton to get up. Christian goes for the spear but Orton jumps over him. Orton goes for the RKO but Christian pushes him away and delivers a spear when Orton gets to his feet. Christian goes for the pin but he only gets two and he looks distraught.
Christian is able to catch Orton with his kicks in the corner. Christian goes to the top and leaps over Orton, but Orton is able to catch Christian with a big RKO. Orton pins Christian and he's able to get the three count, but it looked to me like Christian's leg may have been under the rope.
Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Randy Orton
After the match, Christian complains to the ref about his foot being under the rope while Orton celebrates with his title. Orton sees this going on and he doesn't look happy. He waits for Christian to turn around and Orton blasts Christian with the belt. Orton says 'payback's a b****', before mounting the turnbuckle and continuing his celebration.
- The Bella Twins make their way out to the ring with Keystone Light spokesman Keith Stone. Focus then shifts over the Michael Cole who brings up the WWE Championship match that will be taking place tonight. This segues right into a video package that highlights R-Truth's conspiracy theories, and the events that have led up to his Championship match with John Cena tonight.
"Bonus Attraction Match"
Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne
As a bonus attraction, apparently we're going to be treated to another match. Jack Swagger is the first participant to make his way out to the ring. Unsurprisingly, Swagger's opponent is a man who he's had a lot of problems with recently, Evan Bourne, who gets a great reaction from the crowd.
The bell rings and Swagger begins man-handling Bourne, picking him up and slamming him down to the mat. Swagger attempts to wear Bourne down with a couple of submissions, but Bourne uses his speed and agility to fight his way out of them. Bourne goes for a hip toss but Swagger blocks so Bourne hits a hurricarana instead. Bourne utilizes his speed to run circles around Swagger but he's caught and slammed chest first into Swagger's knee. Swagger picks Bourne up and slams him chest first right down into the ring. Swagger buries his elbow in Bourne's midsection repeatedly.
Swagger locks in a rear chin lock and Keith Stone and the Bella's are shown looking on. Swagger does pushups while pressing down on Bourne's back. Bourne lays in with a kick to the side of Swagger's head, but he eats a back body drop that's good for a near fall for Swagger. Swagger drags Bourne into the corner and wears him out, smashing his face into the middle turnbuckle before sending him across the ring and hitting the running Vader bomb. Swagger goes for the pin but Bourne is still able to kick out at two. Swagger stomps straight down on Bourne's chest. The crowd is dead.
Swagger continues to beat on Bourne with big clubbing blows. Swagger talks some smack to Bourne, and Bourne responds with a hurricarana. Evan lays in to Swagger with a series of stiff kicks, but Swagger picks Bourne up and slams him down. Swagger goes for the Vader bomb again but this time Bourne kicks straight up. Bourne hits the double knees to Swagger's chest, and a giant kick to the face but he's still only able to get a two count. Swagger connects with a big boot out of nowhere and he's able to get a two count.
Bourne goes to the top and fights Swagger off with knees to the face. Bourne comes off and plants Swagger with a GIANT DDT. Bourne goes for the pin but Swagger is still able to kick out at two. Bourne hits a big kick to the side of Swagger's head, then lays him out with a back heel kick. Bourne goes for the shooting star press but Swagger moves. Bourne lands on his feet. Swagger goes for the gut wrench but Bourne counters into a roll up. Swagger counters into the ankle lock, which Bourne counters into another roll up, this time catching Jack Swagger for the three count.
Winner: Evan Bourne
In the Arena:
The presidential impersonator makes his way out to the entrance ramp, and US Army members are actually shown saluting. The crowd doesn't seem interested in this at all. 'Obama' says it's an honor to be here tonight and he has many WWE memories. He says on Monday's when he tells the cabinet he's working on the budget, he's watching Raw. He says he wants to say that he's not the anonymous GM, because if he was there'd be less Michael Cole, and more JR. He wishes good luck to both Cena and R-Truth. He says it's funny because Truth is like the Joe Biden of the WWE, he can't understand what he's saying but it sure is a hoot. The crowd is crapping on this. He says Teddy Long is like a combination of he and George W. Bush, he's either doing the right thing or nothing at all. He closes out with God bless the crowd and the US.
'Obama's' exit is interrupted by Booker T, who invites the 'president' into the ring, calling him 'homie'. Booker says it's an honer to meet the president. He says he's made history in the United States, and all over the world, being the first black man elected president. Being the first president of the U.S. to receive the Nobel peace prize, but he asks him if he can do the spin-a-roonie. Booker says he'll show him how to do it first and if he can, everyone in the oval office will go nuts. Booker's music hits, and Booker drops down to one knee, executing the spin-a-roonie. 'Obama' says that was pretty cool, then asks the crowd if they want to see the 'Barack-a-roonie'. Booker's music hits, and 'Obama' drops down to the mat an delivers a terrible spin-a-roonie. Booker asks the crowd to give it up for the 'president', and I feel like the WWE was trying to make me dumber for putting that segment on PPV.
- For some reason, the WWE feels the need to kill even more time, so we're getting another video package, highlighting Cena, and his rise his latest WWE Championship, and the fight that R-Truth has been trying to bring to him for several months now.
WWE Championship
John Cena (c) vs. R-Truth
R-Truth is the first man to make his way out to the ring, with his non-music, and Cena's belt on his arm. Cena's music hits, and the real Champion, minus the belt, makes his way out to the ring to a big pop. Cena says he's here at the capitol.
We get some formal ring introductions for both men, and we're finally ready to kick off our main event of the evening.
The bell rings and both men circle each other before locking up. Truth locks in a head lock and Cena falls to the mat to break the hold. The crowd is about 50/50 in terms of Cena love and hate. Cena takes Truth down to the mat and Truth rolls to the outside to avoid further damage. Truth makes his way back into the ring and Cena goes behind Truth only to catch an elbow to the eye. Truth pound on Cena in the corner, laying in with a series of right hands. Truth chokes Cena with his boot. Cena comes back by sending Truth across the ring and sending him face first into the mat. Cena goes for a right hand to Truth's face but Truth grabs on to the ropes and goes to the outside again.
Truth makes his way back into the ring again and he runs right into Cena who goes for the AA. Truth fights out of it and connects with a big sit out front suplex. Truth takes Cena into the corner again and chokes him with his boot on Cena's throat. Cena fights back with a series of right's but Truth takes Cena right down with a big side kick. Truth catches Cena with a big right hand that sends him down to the mat. Truth executes a splits in the middle of the ring to showboat, before delivering a big leg drop to Cena which is good for a two count.
Truth locks in a front face lock, but Cena is able to fight up to his feet and out of the hold with a big head butt to Truth's chest. Truth is able to come right back with a big corkscrew elbow, but it's still not enough to put Cena away as he kicks out of the pin at two. Truth runs at Cena and hits him with a big flying forearm to the face with is good for another near fall. Truth stomps away at Cena and berates him while Cena tries to pick himself up using Truth. Truth slaps Cena across the face.
Cena rolls out to the apron and uses the ropes to pull himself up to his feet. Cena grabs Truth's head and snaps him down throat first over the top rope. Cena comes back into the ring but Truth lays him out with a quick clothesline that's good for another two count. Truth poses for the crowd before going to the corner and laying in to Cena with a couple of right hands to the stomach. Truth hits a back elbow to the back of Cena's head before laying in with a couple more stomps. Cena uses Truth to get up to his feet, and Truth launches Cena across the ring before hitting a giant hip toss for another two count. Truth locks in another rear chin lock.
Truth changes it up with a body scissors, continuing to wear down the champion. Cena pulls Truths legs apart and tries to counter into the STF, but Truth grabs the ropes. Cena backs off, and then runs right into a big clothesline for another near fall for Truth.
Truth hits Cena with a big suplex and goes for another quick pin, but he's only able to get a two count. Truth goes for another big leg drop, but Cena is able to avoid it and hit a couple of big running shoulderblocks. Cena hits a belly to back suplex, then postures to the crowd. Cena connects with the five knuckle shuffle, but when he goes for the AA, Truth counters into a suplex stunner. Truth goes for the pin but Cena is able to kick out at two.
Truth sets himself up in the corner and charges across the ring with a splash. Cena moves and he's able to lock in an STF. Truth gets to the ropes and Cena breaks at three. Truth kicks Cena in the knee and follows up with a beautiful scissors kick. Truth goes for the pin but Cena is still able to kick out at two. Truth goes up to the top turnbuckle, pausing at the top. Truth comes off with a cross body, but Cena rolls through picking Cena up. Cena goes for a slam but Truth counters into the lie detector. Truth goes for the pin but Cena kicks out at two and rolls to the outside.
Truth follows to the outside where he takes off a Cena fan's hat and steals his drink. The kid then tosses the drink back in Truth's face. Cena sends Truth back into the ring and delivers a quick AA. Cena pins Truth, and this one is over.

John Cena grabs the young fans hat, then takes it out to him. Cena brings the young fan into the ring and holds his arm up in celebration. Cena sends the fan out of the ring, and Lawler comments that he hopes the young man's name is Jimmy. They air replays as the show ends.
